About

Our Mission

RIVOR Tech & Expertise Inc. is a Canadian engineering and technology company focused on developing cost-effective, modular real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms for automotive, EV/SDV, and space/satellite control system validation.

Our mission is to democratize advanced HIL testing by reducing dependency on expensive foreign validation platforms and enabling engineering teams to validate embedded systems with greater flexibility, transparency, and affordability.

Why We Exist

Across the automotive and space industries, engineering teams are often required to invest heavily in large, proprietary HIL platforms—even for basic I/O validation or early-stage control testing. In many real-world scenarios, only a small portion of these platforms’ capabilities are actually used, while hardware costs and software licensing fees continue to increase.

RIVOR Tech was founded to address this imbalance.

We believe that most validation challenges do not require over-engineered infrastructure. Instead, effective validation depends on deterministic real-time execution, scalable modular I/O, model-based realism where needed, and modern automation-first workflows. This philosophy drives the development of RIVOR CompactHIL, our proprietary real-time HIL platform currently in prototype and pilot phase.

Development Status: RIVOR CompactHIL is currently in prototype and pilot phase. Alongside platform development, we provide applied engineering and pilot support to help teams accelerate validation today—while shaping the CompactHIL roadmap through real-world use cases.

Our approach emphasizes technical rigor, repeatability, and automation-first workflows—supporting customers from early prototype validation to integration and verification, across both mobility and space domains.

Founder’s Background & Passion

RIVOR Tech was founded by an engineer with over a decade of hands-on experience in embedded systems, control validation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing across automotive and aerospace/space environments.

Through years of working directly with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers in Canada and Europe, the founder gained deep experience in HIL architecture design, real-time control validation, model-based development workflows, and complex system integration using leading industry platforms.

While these platforms are powerful, repeated exposure to high costs, rigid architectures, and limited flexibility revealed a clear need for a more accessible, modular, and engineer-friendly alternative. Combined with a genuine passion for real-time systems and validation engineering, this realization led to the creation of RIVOR Tech as a product-driven company grounded in real industry experience.

Our Approach

RIVOR Tech follows a product-first, research-driven approach, supported by applied engineering and pilot programs.

  • Platform Development
We are developing RIVOR CompactHIL, a modular real-time HIL platform consisting of IO-RT, Model-RT, and HIL Studio.
  • Applied Engineering & Pilot Programs
Engineering services are used strategically to support early adopters, validate real-world use cases, and refine the CompactHIL roadmap through prototype deployments.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing
We actively support HIL skill development through training, mentoring, and certification initiatives aligned with modern validation workflows.
Looking Forward

RIVOR Tech is committed to building Canadian intellectual property with global relevance. Our long-term vision is to establish a trusted, export-ready HIL platform ecosystem serving automotive, space, and embedded system teams across North America, Europe, and beyond.

By combining deep engineering experience, focused R&D, and a genuine passion for the HIL industry, we aim to help teams validate smarter—without unnecessary complexity or cost.
